Gbarpolu Students Risk Massive WAEC Failure If...
Gbarpolu County NewsBy Marcus Zoleh

Students of the Twelve grade class of the Bopolu Central High School have expressed serious concern over the lack of instructors at the school. The students said that since the school year started nearly two months ago, they are yet to receive instructors for History, Biology, English, Geography and Physics, a situation they described as worrisome.

Yama Kanneh, 22, told The Informer that the lack of instructors poses serious set back for senior students who are expected to write the West African Examinations this year. Because of the lack of instructors for the senior high, you find out that when some of the students get promotion to 9th or 10th grade, they move to Tubmanburg or Monrovia to continue their studies,” Kanneh asserted.

She said students who cannot afford to attend school in other counties are forced to attend the ill-equipped and poorly staffed government school in Gbarpolu. She also indicated that students were told that the government would provide more teachers and resources, such as textbooks and other teaching materials to the school.

Gbarpolu Sheds Tears of Decay
Gbarpolu County NewsIt was created in 2000 as a separate and distinct County, sliced from Lofa County, of which it was an integral part, known as Lower Lofa. But this elevation has only enhanced its misfortunes in development, as it sinks in deep forest with hardly any trace of infrastructure resembling civilization. Bopolu is the first District in the republic, but like other original political enclaves, it remains underdeveloped.

“Rivercess (County) is better than us. At least they have one street. Here in Bopolu (the capital city of Gbarpolu), there is no street. The light poles are small sticks, and no light in the town,” one resident said.
Belleh District: Pealat Decries Political Meddling in Belle Yellah Road Construction
Gbarpolu County News
Pealat, the construction company hired by the Liberian Government to construct the Bella Yellah road in Gbarpolu County, has decried what it called the "politicization" of the project by politicians in the county.

The management of the company told a news conference last Saturday in Monrovia that the constant politicizing of the road project and the company's work will deal a negative impact on the entire process, and called on politicians to stay off.
Belleh District: Ellen Honors Belle Yella Road Constructors
Gbarpolu County NewsPresident Ellen Johnson Sirleaf says the recent construction of a road linking Belle Yella to the rest of the country reinforces her Government's commitment to providing hope to areas which have been neglected in the past. She said this at her Foreign Ministry Office on January 14 while congratulating the Ministry of Public Works and contractors for the road project.
Belleh District: Citizens of Belle District celebrate as road enters Belle Yella
Gbarpolu County Newsby Michael Kpayili

Thank God for Ma Ellen Camp Belle Yella in the past was considered the most infamous prison center for notorious criminals and those critical of sitting government.

Located in the remotest part of Gbarpolu County in Western Liberia, Belle Yella maximum prison center was established in early 1900’s to detain solidified criminals as well as agonized opposition politicians who rebelled against government in the past.
