Kakata District: Over 150 Motorbike Operators In Kakata Extol Support From UNDP

Over one hundred Motorbike Operators in Kakata, Margibi County were on February 26, 2011, proud recipients of drivers' licenses following a week long training on road safety.

The training was conducted with support from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Liberia and initiated in 2009 under its program “Supporting Peaceful Reintegration of High Risk Youth through Rural Transport Livelihood Opportunities Project. It targeted Margibi, Bomi, Bong, Sinoe, Grand Gedeh and Montserrado Counties.

UP Elects Margibi Officials For 2011

Ahead of the ensuing general and presidential elections next year, the ruling Unity Party has elected its county officials for Margibi County. The officials recently elected will steer the affairs of the UP Branch in the county into the 2011 general and presidential elections.

US$10m Cotton Tree-Bokay Town Road Nearing Completion

A US10 million dollar road linking Cotton Tree in Margibi County and Bokay Town in Grand Bassa County is nearing completion.

During an official inspection tour of the 14.94 kilometer road project recently, Ministry of Public Works (MPW) Minster Samuel Kofi Woods II assured Liberians that the Government of Liberia (GOL) was indeed committed to the socio-economic development of the nation

Mambah-Kaba District: 2,000 Kids to Benefit from Junior High in Bomi, Margibi

The chairperson of the Board of Directors of Liberia Dujar Association (LDA)-Sweden, Ms. Inga Johansson, has disclosed that before the end of 2010, LDA-Liberia will begin the construction of two junior high schools, in addition to the already 16 schools that had been built and in operation, to accommodate about 2,000 school-going kids.

Ms. Johansson divulged that LDA-Sweden will continue to support LDA-Liberia in Liberia's reconstruction process through building of schools and providing education to children and the youth, Liberia's future.

Kakata District: Gov't Launches County Security Mechanism

MONROVIA – The government of Liberia officially launched its County Security Mechanism (C.S.M.) in Kakata, Margibi County, on Friday, December 4th.

The program was launched through the Ministries of National Defense, Justice and Internal Affairs, and in collaboration with the office of the security advisor to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
