"The sentence will be pronounced on May 30th at 11:00 a.m. (local time)," presiding judge Richard Lussick told the Special Court for Sierra Leone shortly after delivering the guilty verdict. The international court opened Thursday its judgment hearing for Taylor, accused of arming Sierra Leone's rebels who paid him in "blood diamonds." Ambassador Weah had gone to the Capitol Building to pay a courtesy call on CDC Lawmakers in their various offices. He also held meetings with some members of the Nimba and Grand Gedeh Counties Legislative Caucus and other lawmakers in the conference room of the Lower House. Korgar has donated three pick-up trucks to residents of his district aimed at lessening the transportation needs of his constituents. Presenting the keys of the vehicles to the to the district, the Administrative Assistance in the office of Representative Korgar, Mr. Gondlee E. Mambia said the donation is in fulfillment of promises made by the Lawmaker to the people of Electoral District #5 during the electioneering process. He added that the three Fusu Mignon pick-up trucks will be distributed amongst the three chiefdoms of the district to help ease the transportation needs of his citizens. He noted that people travelling on the vehicles will pay minimum fees to help maintain and service the trucks. Johnson as the political leader and member of the party. Johnson is accused, among other things, of unilaterally declaring his support for President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in the runoff of the 2011 presidential election without the consent of the party’s National Executive Committee. Gbawou Kowou, chairman of the National Union for Democratic Progress Party, said the party views some of Johnson’s actions as criminal. Liberian law currently does not explicitly address homosexuality. "Voluntary sodomy" is a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in prison, but there have been no recent convictions, according to the most recent U.S. State Department Human Rights Report. A bill introduced by Rep. Clarence Massaquoi, which is currently being reviewed in committee, makes "same-sex sexual practices" a second-degree felony, punishable by up to five years imprisonment. The disclosure on the former president comes in response to a request filed by the Globe six years ago under the Freedom of Information Act. African elected ICC chief prosecutor http://liberiadistricts.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=311 International Criminal Court (ICC) has elected Fatou Bensouda the tribunal's chief prosecutor after facing fierce criticism from the African Union for mainly targeting African politicians. <img border="0" hspace="15" alt="ECOWAS" vspace="15" align="right" src="PICS/fatou-ICC.jpg" width="160" height="170"> Bensouda, a former justice minister in Gambia and currently the ICC's deputy prosecutor, was unanimously elected to the post by 120 member states of the Assembly of States Parties during the tribunal's annual meeting in the UN headquarters, AFP reported on Monday. A holder of a master's degree in international maritime law, Bensouda will take over next June from Luis Moreno-Ocampo to serve a nine-year-long term. Bensouda, a 50-year-old lawyer, has been a Deputy Prosecutor in charge of the Prosecutions Division of the ICC since 2004.
